Tony Johnson, 55, of Madison, passed away on March 16, 2024 at St. Dominics Jackson Memorial Hospital. Tony was born on April 4, 1968 to Watts and Jane Gann Johnson in Jackson, MS. Tony was raised in Madison and graduated high school from Madison Ridgeland High and in 1991 graduated from the Police Academy. He met Tracy Teer in 1991 and they married in 1998. Tony worked as a police officer for Madison and Ridgeland before moving to Georgia where he began working for Averitt Transportation. They moved back home to Madison where he continued working for Averitt Transportation as a city driver. He loved RVing with his family and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Tony recently took up smoking meats and learning from his brother. He was close to becoming just as good. Tony is survived by his wife Tracy Johnson, brother, Danny Johnson (Gayle) of Flowood, MS; sister, Debbie Johnson of Madison, MS; and his furbabies; Roscoe, Sophie, Macy, Max, Maggie, and Taco. He was preceded in death by father, Watts A. Johnson and his mother, Jane Gann Johnson. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home with a graveside committal service to follow at 11:00am in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org or Webster Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 40 Madison, MS 39130.
