Cremation
Natchez Trace Funeral Home and Crematory has taken the lead in making sure our profession is Certified to provide cremation services to the public. New state laws require crematory operaters to be certified to operate a crematory. The Cremation Association of North America (CANA) has been selected to provide this training and Natchez Trace Funeral Home and Crematory has offered their facilities as a central location for this training to occur on August 19, 2008. If you are considering cremation, there is a wide range of options available for you at Natchez Trace Funeral Home. More importantly, with the addition of cremation facility, Natchez Tarce Funeral Home is the only funeral provider in the Jackson Metro area that provides funeral, cemetery, and cremation services in one convenient location. The events in Noble, Georgia, where bodies thought to have been cremated were discovered, happened when licensed funeral homes entrusted a third party cremation provider. Natchez Trace Crematory is operated by licensed funeral directors and/or certified crematory operators. For peace of mind, your loved one will never leave our care.
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without outside covering). The containers we provide are alternative containers and other cremation containers, including containers made of heavy cardboard, fiberboard, and other composite materials.
Our cremation service includes the basic services of the funeral director and staff and a proportionate share of our overhead costs, transfer of remains to the funeral home, and the crematory fee. THE CREMATION FEE IS INCLUDED.
The options for a direct cremation are:
- Direct cremation with the container provided by you. $1875
(All containers must meet any applicable state or crematory requirements.)
- Direct cremation with a heavy cardboard alternative container (no interior). $1950
- Direct cremation with a heavy cardboard alternative container (rosetan crepe interior) $2125
- Direct cremation with the “Simplicity” fiberboard cremation casket. $3265
- Direct cremation with a wooden casket selected from our funeral home. $4065 to $6855 (Refer to the casket price list as provided by the funeral home.)
Cremation with Memorial Service in our Chapel (body not present) $3505
This charge includes basic services of the funeral director and staff and overhead, transfer of remains to funeral home, Cardboard Cremation Alternative Container (no interior), transfer of remains to crematory (if applicable), crematory fee, use of facilities and staff for memorial service, and your choice of Memorial Package.
Cremation with Funeral and use of Rental Casket: (body present) $5360
This charge includes basic services of the funeral director and staff and overhead, transfer of remains to funeral home, embalming, dressing, casketing and/or cosmetizing of deceased, use of facilities and staff for services for viewing, use of facilities and staff for funeral ceremony, Vesta Oak ceremonial rental casket and casket insert, transfer of remains to crematory (if applicable), transfer of cremated remains from crematory to funeral home( if applicable), crematory fee, and your choice of memorial package.
